STEM Visit - KS2

5th March 2019

10 Year 6 girls were lucky enough to be asked to celebrate the “50TH Anniversary of the moon landing” at The Towers. The girls were welcomed to the school and put into groups Apollo and Nasa with other girls who had been invited.
The day had a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) link and they took part in engaging and practical sessions with different teachers. Throughout the day they were focused on all things space! Discovering what it would be like to be an astronaut, the distance of planets, how to make rockets fly into space and even launching one of their own, eating space related food and creating some beautiful art work on the planets.
The girls had a fantastic day and are have set their sights high of becoming astronauts themselves.
